Martin (Marty), a native of Georgia, earned a Bachelor ofCivil Engineering from The Georgia Institute of Technology in 1985 and beganhis 37-year career with ExxonMobil (then Exxon Chemical). After initialpositions in engineering, project management and scheduling, Marty began hiscommercial career with a sales role in Exxon Chemical and progressed throughmultiple sales territories, key account management, sales management, marketdevelopment and management, and technology licensing as well as severalleadership roles in procurement. These roles enabled him to work with hundredsof counterparties in multiple industries and dozens of countries.

Internally he participated in and lead the development ofbusiness strategies, commercial methodologies and change management projects.His recognized commercial prowess and experience enabled him to develop a newrole as Senior Principal in procurement during the final years of his career.This role as an internal consultant enabled Marty to work across the entireenterprise. He developed and delivered training for both sales and procurementstaff, advised leadership, and supported numerous significant deals.

Marty retired in May 2022 and is presently forming aconsultancy – Marty Levine, Commercial – where he plans to offer his significantexpertise to firms who need to develop their sales, marketing, procurement, andoverall business strategy. Marty regularly shares his wisdom on LinkedIn andhas recently taken on an advisory position with the Houston Chapter of theInstitute of Supply Management. He and his wife Cindy share an interest in anart business where he markets his photography.
