Paul Doucette is the Hydrogen Program Leader at the University of Houston. In that role, he is
leading the university’s efforts to grow the hydrogen ecosystem in Texas and establish the
University of Houston as a thought leader in this important energy transition space. He recently
retired from Baker Hughes where he served as the Global Energy Transition Executive and
General Manger for Policy, Funding, Stakeholder Engagement and Knowledge Management. In
that role, he interacted with key stakeholders around the globe to help chart the strategic direction
of the company, particularly regarding the energy transition and low-carbon future.

Prior GE’s acquisition of Baker Hughes, Paul was the Global External Funding Leader for GE Oil
& Gas. His career also encompasses roles with Cornell Companies, Inc. as Vice President of
Public Affairs and Business Development, serving as Vice President of Ward Creative
Communications, Director of Public and Government Affairs with Star Enterprise and with Texaco
in roles ranging from Sales to Director of Public and Government Affairs.

Paul served with the 2 nd Bomb Wing, 2 nd Air Force of the Strategic Air Command. He holds his
Masters in Business Administration from Nicholls State University; Thibodaux, Louisiana and a
Bachelor of Arts degree from Louisiana Tech University. He is a graduate of the Advanced
Executive Development Program of the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University.

Paul is an avid long-distance cyclist, logging thousands of miles each year. He enjoys spending
time with his wife, the 1991 National Teacher of the Year, Rae McKee and their five children,
eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
